6.C Begin to make reasonable estimates of numbers.

Preschool Benchmarks

Estimate number of objects in a small set.

• Make reasonable estimates of small quantities of objects (e.g., guess “four” when asked how many peach slices are in the bowl).

• Tell whether a set is more or less than 5.

• Presented with a set of 7 or 8, estimate a number in the range of 5 to 12.
